Winner Announced for One Man Band Contest!
11-13-2009
The “How Do You Play with Your One Man Band?” contest has ended and a winner has been chosen!
This contest challenged users to show the world how they play with their Kata One Man Band bag through either photos or a video. There were a lot of amazing entries to choose from but the first place grand prize winner of a Sony PMW-EX1 HD Video Camera is….
Chad Johnson!
Chad wowed the judges with his humor, creativity and willingness to don a gorilla suit to show how great he thinks the One Man Band is. All entries were judged on the demonstration of how the One Man Band can be used, the quality of the video/photo and video/photo techniques used.
You can watch his winning video here:
The second and third place entries will each be receiving a cool Kata R-104 Rucksack – for when you need Kata’s reliable protection for your gear, but not as much space as the One Man Band offers.
Second place winner Andrew B.’s video shows how his Kata One Man Band plays with him and third place winner Alex M.’s video shows cool ways to get the most out your OMB bag. Second Place
Third Place
Special thanks to everyone who entered the contest. We loved seeing videos and photos of people being creative, happy, adventurous, silly, serious and defying the laws of physics (see the video from the LeRoy Neiman Art Center) while showing us how they play with their One Man Band bags. While we can’t show every entry we received, here are some of our other favorites:
From the LeRoy Neiman Art Center, this video was shot and directed by Alan N. and his summer class at the center.
Here’s an awesome animated video from Francisco B. that includes a giant dinosaur foot, some mountain climbing, and a very fluffy looking beard.
Debra K. looked high and low to find the perfect bag for her. Now that she has it, she can go everywhere – just her and her One (Wo)man Band!
William S. enjoys the comfortable carry strap – which frees up his hands for a little One Man Band music making.
Check out how Alberto B. uses his OMB and what it goes through, in his daily life of skateboarding.
Ever wonder exactly how much stuff a OMB-77 can hold? Paul K. shows us the amazing amount of equipment he takes around with him, including a fully built (including large mattebox) Cinema RED One camera and Digital Cinema Edit Workstation.
A musical number from Robbie R. who, while not actually showing the OMB, found some very creative ways around that problem.
