Metz Expands User-upgradable flash with new Series new models.
Metz has introduced the new 48 AF-1 shoe mount flash to compliment the award-winning Metz 58 AF-1 series of user-upgradeable full-featured flashes that can easily adapt to new camera modes via USB.
The 48 AF-I series has many of the features found in its more-powerful brother with savings well over $100 when compared to a comparable 58 series flash. This makes the 48 AF-1 ideal for the casual shooter.
Additionally, the 48 AF-1 can be commanded as a wireless slave flash by the 58 AF-1 or flashes from camera makers that feature master/commander modes.
Currently, the 48 AF-1 is available with either a Canon or Nikon hot shoe mount.
48 AF-I series Features:
- Digital Compatibility - Compatible with the most current digital metering systems from the top camera manufacturers, including iTTL from Nikon and e-TTL 1 & 2 from Canon
- Wireless TTL - Can be used as a wireless slave within the Canon & Nikon wireless digital TTL system
- USB Connection - Firmware updates can be made by users to keep flashes current with the latest camera metering systems
- AF Flash Measurement - Auto focus assist beam integrated in the flash unit makes automatic focus adjustment with AF-SLR cameras possible.
- Tilt/Swivel reflector - Can be adjusted vertically from -7 to 90 degrees allowing for indirect (bounce) flash lighting.
- Rear Sync - Synchronization on the 2nd shutter curtain for natural blur effects.
- Partial Light Mode - For reduced light output or for particular flash durations.
- Power Zoom - Automatic adjustment of the flash reflector to the corresponding lens focal length.
